C18 or early C19 house of 2 storeys in coursed stone with pantile roof with flat
stone verge and shaped corbels at eaves. 2 brick stacks at gable ends. Rusticated
quoins. 3 windows, stone lintels with keystones, no glazing bars. 2 splayed
bay windows on ground floor of mid C19. Centre wood doorcase with grooved pilasters,
open pediment and console brackets. Dentil cornice. Door of 6 panels up 3 steps
below radiating semi-circular fanlight.
Nos 35 to 37 (consec), Mount Royd. 38 to 40 (consec), St Joseph's Presbytery,
Roman Catholic Church of St Joseph, Church Hall, and Nos 44 to 47 (consec) form
a group, of which Nos 35, 37 and Mount Royd are buildings of local interest.
