C18 house of 2 storeys in coursed stone with rusticated quoins. Pantile roof
with 2 stone verges and shaped corbels and 3 brick stacks. 3 windows, 2 hung
sashes with glazing bars, centre window blocked. 1 small window to left over
archway. Stone lintels to all openings, with triple keystones. Cavetto moulded
eaves cornice. Centre doorway of 6 fielded panels below rectangular fanlight
and up steps. Flat string at lst floor level and forming impost block to the
rusticated elliptical-headed carriage entry.
Nos 35 to 37 (consec), Mount Royd. 38 to 40 (consec), St Joseph's Presbytery,
Roman Catholic Church of St Joseph, Church Hall, and Nos 44 to 47 (consec) form
a group, of which Nos 35, 37 and Mount Royd are buildings of local interest.
