Detached farmhouse. C17, one section possibly earlier. Ham stone ashlar and squared rubble.
part abestos cement slate and part Welsh slate roof between high stepped coped gables,
suggesting former thatch; brick and stone chimney stacks. Two storeys, 5 bays. Ovolo-mould
mullioned windows in wave-mould recesses. of 3,3,3,2 and 2 light above and 4, 2, 4 and
2 light below, the last being between bays 4 and 5; continous string to bays 1 and 2,
continued and stepped up over flat-arched ovolo-moulded doorway right of bay 2, separate
labels lower bays 3 and 4/5. Further mullioned windows with hood mould to south gable.
Interior not seen, but reported are deep-chamfered beams with step and runout stos; an
adapted cambered-arched fireplace in north room; C18 oanelling in middle room, with overlap
plank partition to rear; in south room scroll-stops to beams and fireplace lintol; to rear a
formerly detached kitchen, also an agricultural building separated from the farmhouse by a
circular stone track for a horse engine. About 4 metres east of house, a near ashlar wall with
thin angled coping, one metre high, with square piers having plain plinth and pyramidal caps to
gateway opposite door, which has a pair of C19 wrot iron gates; all adding to the setting of the
