Completed 1849. Yellow stock brick locally made, aligned north north east,
south south west and having 32 arches. Designed by P Bruff, contractor G Wythes.
Arch-span 30 feet, arch-height 75 feet total length 1,060 feet with a rise of
9 feet from end to end. Designed to carry 2 tracks it has only ever had one.
Cost: £32,000 materials over 7 million bricks.
