Originally old Ryde Farmhouse, dating from latter part of the C18 but
enlarged and altered as a villa Circa 1830 and later. Three storey main
block stucco faced (traces of original house in two storey stuccoed
recessed bays to East and West). The front is flanked by pilaster strips,
bands between storeys, plinth. Low pitch hipped slate roof, eaves
cornice. Mid C19 wooden rectangular bay added through three storeys with
cornice and blocking course, to East. info sashes to front and one light
each side, on each floor, no glazing bars, incised panelled aprons.
Other windows, two to first and second floors, one on ground floor, are
recessed, sash, glazing bars intact, block sills. Wooden porch with
free standing square section Tuscan columns to front and pilaster to wall,
entablature over. It has been glazed in at sides. Recessed door of
six fielded Panels rectangular fanlight, tracery glazing bars. Panelled
reveals. Flight of six steps up to entrance, with capped piers at foot.
Cottage adjoining No 11 to the West (originally part of the farm) now
known as No 3 Market Street.

Nos 7 to 11 (odd) with No 3 Market Street form a group.
