Barn forming east side of stable yard approx. 100 metres east of Ledston Hall

Barn, now part of modern stable complex to the rear. C17, probably by
William Thornton (see Pevsner on Stable Block adjacent). Magnesian limestone
rubble, stone slate roof. Rectangular plan. Two storeys and 5 bays,
symmetrical; drip-course, central double doors under a large semicircular
arch in raised surround with large semicircular arch having imposts and hood
which breaks the dripcourse,a smaller doorway at each end under a similar but
smaller arch; 4 cross-windows at ground floor, and seven 2-light mullioned
windows at 1st floor; gable coping with kneelers.
