An early C19 red brick house with stucco dressings and rusticated quoins. No
48 is now faced with cement rendering. 2 storeys. 3:1 window range, double-hung
sashes with glazing bars, in stuccoed rusticated surrounds. No 48 has a C20 shop
front on the ground storey. Roof slate, hipped on the east and west ends, with
a paired bracketted eaves soffit. The front is protected by C19 spearhead railings.

All the listed buildings around The Green form a group. (Nos 8,10,38,52,and 25 are
buildings of local interest.)
