Mottram Hall Farmhouse

Formerly barn of Mottram Old Hall, now house: late C16 with C20
additions and alterations. Timber framed with brick nogging on
sandstone plinth. Kerridge stone-slate roof and 2 brick chimneys.
5-bay barn of rectangular plan. 2-storey south front shows 16 by 3
timber small frames with angle bracing of the wall plate. 1 bay to
right hidden by added lean-to. Inserted C20 windows are 2-light
casements and 2 half-glazed doors. East gable has herringboning and
an ovolo moulding on the tie-beam. North front has plastered brick
panels and 2 C20 gabled timber framed additions.
