Commercial premises, 1906 by E. A. Hune. Stuccoed, slate roof,
individual Free Style front with sculpture and classical detailing
derived from C17 artisan classicism. 4 storeys. Single bay elevation.
Ground floor frame of original shop front intact with flanking Roman
Ionic columns and entablature. Tripartite 1st floor window,with plain
squared dividers and frame,has small pane square leaded lights;
flanking Tuscan quoin pilasters with marked entasis. The 2nd floor
window, similar but with arched centre light in Venetian composition,
flanked by life size naturally sculpted nude female figures standing
as caryatids on the capitals of the 1st floor quoin pilasters and
bearing the entablature which supports a screen of Ionic columns
across the 3rd floor window; deep segmental pediment gable overall
with a festooned cartouche inscribed "1906 Glyns House".
