Burgage development. C15 or C16. Rubble and timber-frame, Cotswold stone
roofs; large central chimney, brick over ashlar base. 2 storeys. No 9 is
all rubble, Nos 10 and 11 have rendered jetty to 1st floor on moulded
bressumer and moulded stone cornice to 1st floor, part of moulded eaves
cornice survives. No 9 has 9 windows, C20 casements on 1st floor and 2
glazing-bar sashes on ground floor, door to left. No 10 has mullion
windows, ovolo on 1st floor, moulded with lozenge section cockbeads to
ground floor now with paired glazing-bar sashes, the left hand 1st floor
window a C20 2-light casement, door to left. No 11 has 3 windows,
irregular, on 1st floor, the right hand with chamfered mullions, the
ground floor underbuilt within jetty and has two pairs of glazing-bar
sashes flanking doorway. Rear of No 8 has a range of wood mullion
windows, on 1st floor 6-light and transomed. The rear of Nos 10 and 11
has a sort of open 6-bay loggia to a timber-framed inner wall (with
braces) a mere 2' 6" behind. No 10 has a fine arch-braced truss in
centre of 1st floor, it also has a (blocked externally) moulded foiled
head 2-light window.
