House (partly derelict), and attached barn. House, mid to late C17
with mid C18 barn attached to right and late C18 house with C19
alterations to left. Rubble brought to course, stone slate roof.
Forms a long range with 3 different roof lines stepped higher following
the slope of the hill. 2 storeys. C17 house 2-cell end-lobby-entry
plan with single-storey outshut to rear. This now has 5 divisions :
1st has window with plain stone surrounds to each floor; 2nd has
doorway with composite jambs and chamfered surround; 3rd has altered
window to each floor; 4th has double-chamfered mullioned window with
hoodmould formerly of 4 lights (lacks 2 mullions), inserted 1st floor
window; 5th has doorway with composite jambs and simple Tudor-arched
lintel; 2 stacks to this range. Attached to right: barn has quoins,
2 doorways with composite jambs and chamfered surrounds, one to centre
the other to right for mistal and coped gable to left. Attached at
lower level is added 3-cell house which only retains its original
3-light flat-faced mullioned windows with recessed mullions to the
2nd bay. Other cells have altered windows. Doorway with monolithic
jambs in 1st cell. Hipped roof to left with lateral stack and one
other to ridge. Rear: segmental-arched cart-entry to barn formed by
2 cantilevered stones butt-jointed; outshut to C17 house has quoins
and 3-light chamfered mullioned window (lacks a mullion).
