Row of 6 almshouses and sundial. Dated 1890. Ashlar. Tiled
roof. 2 gable and 3 ridge stacks, 4 diagonally set shafts to
each, 6 to the central stack. Coped parapets, with moulded band
under and coped gables with kneelers. 12 bays, 2 storeys. The
outer bays project and the third bay in, both sides, and the
central 2 bays slightly project. All have shaped gables.
Flanking the central gable are decorative ashlar scrolls running
onto the parapet. Central 2 bays are set on a plinth. Ground
floor lintel band to the central 6 bays. 2 five light casements,
flanked by single storey porches each with 2 moulded arches
supported on round columns and 2 inner doorways with Tudor style
arches and part glazed doors. Further flanked by single similar
casements and single 2 storey projecting porches with single
similar archways and inner doorways. The outer bays each have a
single 5 light canted casement window. Above is a central
commemorative plaque flanked by single 4 light casements, 2
gabled dormers breaking across the eaves with casements, single 4
light casements, single 2 light casements and single 4 light
casements. All casements, except the dormers, have lead glazing
bars, stone mullions and drip moulds. Carved in the centre apex
is "AD 1890" with central pediment topped with family crest. The
outer gables each have a carved crest. In front, centre, is a
sundial decorated with cherubs' heads.
