School, now hospital. c.1860. Ahslar. Shaped tiled roof, decorative copper ridge.
4 ridge stacks, 4 Tudor style shafts to the outer and 2 to the
inner stacks. Coped gables with kneelers and mannerist style orb finials. Moulded
eaves band. Set on a plinth. 2 storeys plus attic. 5 bays. The central and outer
bays project and are gabled, the central gable being shaped. Central glazing bar
casement with glazing bar fanlight, all set into a recessed panel with rusticated
arched surround and bracket keystone. Flanked by single 3 light casements and
single 4 light casements in flush ashlar quoin surrounds with stone millions and
drip moulds. Above, central oriel casement window with stone mullions and decorative
strapwork over. Flanked by single oeil de boeufs in raised ashlar surrounds.
Either side are 2 three light casements in flush ashlar quoin surrounds and with
stone mullions and drip moulds. In the central apex is a decorative round panel.
In each outer apex is a single narrow casement in flush ashlar quoin surround
with drip mould. attached to the left and slightly set back is a stone coped wall
with small casement in flush ashlar quoin surround and to the left a Tudor style,
chamfered, arched doorway with wooden door and hood mould.
