House. Circa 1800. Red brick with clay tile roof. Double pile plan of 2
storeys and attics, with single storeyed wing to rear. W elevation:
symmetrical facade with 2 gables. 2 5-light casements to ground and first
floors, 2 2-light casements to attics, all with glazing bars and cambered
heads. First floor has central blind window. Central doorway has 6-panel
door, rectangular fanlight with glazing bars, and pedimented hood on cut
brackets. N and S elevations also have 2 gables, those to N elevation
rebuilt. N has variety of casements, one leaded, S has C20 casements with
rebuilt heads. N has door similar to front one. Both have substantial
projecting chimney stacks serving front block, with rectangular shafts linked
at caps. Both are of reused later C16 brick, possibly from Warden Abbey (the
Gostwick house).
