Farmhouse: dated 1745 for T Walton with C20 alterations and additions
to the rear. Flemish bond red brick, Welsh slate roof, 2 gable brick
chimneys. 2½-storey, symmetrical 3-bay front. End bays have C20
3-light mullioned and transomed windows with glazing bars under flat
wedged brick heads with stone keyblocks and sills. Central bay has
C20 gabled brick porch with a glazed door with 2 similar 2-light
windows above the upper one in a primitive barge-boarded triangular
pediment. Datestone in this bay reads TW 1745 (the space for the
wife's initial is blank).
Interior: no original features are reported.
Was identical to the now altered Topps Farmhouse and Bradford Road
Farmhouse, Nether Alderley, and similar to Dean Green Farmhouse
(q.v.), all Stanley Estate farms.
