Terraced town house. c.1675 with later alterations, part of Barbon's
development of the York House estate. Stucco faced brick, concealed roof.
4 storeys and basement. 3 windows wide. Doorway to left with panelled
door recessed in shallow wood architrave case, entablature and small
cornice-hood. Flush framed sashes, retaining glazing bars to upper
floors. Plat band over ground floor and front finished off with parapet
coping. Wrought iron area railings with flambé torch finials. Interior,
despite alteration, retains bolection moulded panelling to passage-hall,
panelled pilaster keystoned archway to stairwell; dog leg staircase with
cut and carved strings to lower flights and closed strings to upper ones,
turned balusters to lower flights (one or two per tread) and turned and
twisted balusters to upper flights, square newels and turned pendants;
front 1st floor room with some bolection panelling and remains to 2nd
floor, otherwise elements of plain panelling, etc.
