House. c1840. Pebble-dashed limestone, graduated slate roof. 2
storeys and attic, 3 bays. Plinth. Central, part-glazed
panelled door and plain overlight in stone doorcase having
sunken-panelled pilasters, dentilled string and roundels on
the frieze under bold cornice. Panelled aprons below large
12-pane sashes in cemented surrounds. Band beneath sills of
similar 1st-floor windows. Modillioned wooden cornice;
oversailing verges; ashlar end stacks with bands and sets of
coroneted pots. Left return: round-arched attic window has
casement with glazing bars. INTERIOR: contemporary staircase
with square rods and wreathed handrail; acanthus ceiling rose.
Ground-floor room on right has contemporay fire surround and
basket-arched recess with colonnettes; 4-panel doors in
architraves with corner fleurons. Ground-floor room on left:
recess with pilasters, egg and dart moulding and pierced oak
leaf frieze; deeply-moulded ceiling cornice (wall panelling
from elsewhere).
