Farmhouse. C16 or C17, possibly incorporating parts of an earlier building;
later additions and alterations. Red brick partly concealing and partly
replacing timber frame, rendered to left gable of cross-wing; plain
tile roofs. L-plan comprising long hall range to left with cross-wing
of roughly equal length projecting to rear on right. 2 storeys with
dentilled eaves cornice to hall range; one storey and attic to cross-
wing. Three-light C19 casements directly below eaves to left and right
of hall range with segmental-headed casements immediately below,left
replaced by late C20 French window. Cross-wing has one C19 casement
on each floor to left gable, lower with segmental head. Entrance to
hall range to right of centre through mid-C19 round-arched brick porch;
plank and muntin inner door with decorated strap hinges. Salop Fire
Insurance Plate directly above. Tall red brick ridge stack immediately
to left has paired rebated shafts and top rebuilt in late C19 brick.
Front wall of cross-wing (formerly timber framed) totally rebuilt in
late C20 brick with 2 contemporary casements, gabled eaves dormer and
inserted garage. Retains prominent ridge stack with moulded capping
to left of centre; small subsidiary brick stack in roof slope to left.
Exposed single-purlin ends to left gable.
