Farmhouse. Circa 1700, extended c.1830 to 1840 with later additions
and alterations. Red brick (with stuccoed plinth to C19 part); plain
tile roofs. C19 house an L-plan with earlier range in angle to rear
on left. 2 storeys with deep eaves; 3-window front, 16-paned glazing
bar sashes with plain wedge lintels. Central entrance; Doric porch
with moulded entablature over 6-panel door (top panels now glazed) with
rectangular barred overlight. Small brick ridge stack to left of centre
and another stack to back wall at junction with long 2-storey range
to rear. This has a mixture of C19 and C20 casements and an external
end stack. Circa 1700 range has two 3-light mid-C19 casements on each
floor, those on ground floor with segmental heads and those to first
floor directly below raised eaves with dentilled eaves cornice. Red
brick ridge stack to centre and external end stack to left. Interior:
circa 1700 part has chamfered ceiling beams and a straight-flight oak
staircase to centre. C19 part has staircase of c.1830 with curved handrail
and stick balusters. Panelled window shutters and decorative frieze
and carving to ceiling beams in main ground-floor rooms.
