Farmhouse. Late C17, possibly incorporating parts of an earlier building,
extended mid-C18 with later additions and alterations. Red brick; slate
roof, mainly graded, with boxed eaves. Original 3-bay central baffle-
entry plan extended by one bay to left in C18 (straight joint) and 2-storey
gabled brick range added to rear in early C19, forming present T-plan.
2 storeys and gable-lit attic with dentilled floor bands to front and right
gable end and plain floor bands to left gable end. 3 mid-C19 casements
directly below eaves and 2 to left and one to far right of mid-C19 gabled
brick porch to right of centre, all windows with wooden lintels and purple
brick cills. Porch has 4-panel door and semi-circular fanlight; infilled
segmental-headed doorway between it and right window. Small oval-shaped
window directly below eaves above infilled doorway and ridge stack in 2
sections with moulded capping formerly forming baffle entry. Integral
end stack to left. Infilled wooden mullioned and transomed window to
rear on right. Rear range has dentilled eaves cornice, integral lateral
stack to centre on right and open lean-to adjoining, also on right. Interior.
Inspection not possible at time of resurvey (January 1987) but left ground-
floor room noted as having 2 chamfered spine beams and heavy joists.
