Public house, dated 1789. Stone (watershot coursing to front, rubble at
rear), slate roof with gable chimneys. Double-pile 3-bay plan. Two
storeys; prominent quoins, sill bands to both floors; central doorway with
moulded architrave and moulded open segmental pediment on scrolled brackets;
above this at 1st floor a moulded and shouldered datestone lettered T
R. M'
and a single-light window; otherwise, 2 windows each floor, all with plain
stone cases. Later single-storey extension at left end. At the rear the
roof continues to a lower level, and there are 2 single-storey lean-to
extensions to the rear wall. Interior altered.
