Farm buildings. C17 or earlier, with stable adjoining NE c1900.
At N end a timber frame weatherboarded barn on brick base
projecting into moat. Steep roof of corrugated asbestos. 5-bays
with gabled porch in middle of W side, with overhanging gable on
brackets. Double doors opposite on E. Jowled posts and heavy
braces to tie beams. Adjoining at NE a stable with a red brick
rear wall rising from the moat and red brick E gable.
Weatherboarded S front to yard with 4 stable doors. Red tile
roof with bargeboard and half-timbering above collar at gable.
4-gabled dormers over the doors with small paned windows to loft.
3 small square louvres with lead pagoda roofs and knobs along
ridge, central one larger. Adjoining barn on S a 2-storeys C17
red brick building with front and upper parts of end walls
timberframed and weatherboarded under a steep roof of corrugated
asbestos. There is an offset in the irregularly bonded rear
wall. Adjoininq this building on S is a lower single-storey C17
red brick square stable with an old red tile roof half-hipped on
S over a timberframed half-gable. Heavy doorframe and blocked
doorway on E. Chamfered plinth offset. Picturesque group
enclosing the moated forecourt of the house on W and NW.
