G.V. II

Hall house, now house. C14, altered C17, altered and extended mid C20. Part timber
frame with painted brick infill, part painted brick. Old tile gabled roof. Rectangular
plan of 2-framed bays formerly, gabled facing road; now T-plan with extension on east. 2
storeys. One large, weathered projecting chimney on gable, one other chimney on
extension; both with clay pots. C20 iron, leaded casement windows. Entrance (north)
front: irregular. Older part on right has one 3-light window and one single-light
window on first floor, two 3-light windows on ground floor. Large gabled extension
projecting forward on left has false timber work; three, 2-light windows on first floor;
two, 3-light windows on ground floor with plain C20 entrance door and lean-to hood on
right; to the right of this a section in similar style raking down over the internal
staircase, with two single-light windows. Interior: good quality timber frame exposed
on first floor with large arch braces. Collar purlin roof much altered, with moulded
crown post which was re-positioned during the mid C20 alterations.
