Farmhouse. C17 and early C18, partly rebuilt in early C19 and
with 1980s additions and alterations. Vestiges of C17 timber
frame on original stone plinth to two northern bays, mostly
rebuilt in red brick in early C19. Early C18 red brick with
vitrified headers in Flemish bond to two southern bays, also
with stepped and sawtooth brick first floor band. Two northern
bays have a steeply pitched slate roof with two roof lights and
a brick gable stack to north, and southern bay has a plain tile
roof with a rendered brick gable stack to south. The bay
between has a higher slate roof with brick stack to north. Two
storeys and four bays. Northern part has a blocked central
segment headed doorcase flanked by 3-light segment headed
windows with horizontal sliding plain sashes. Attached to south
is a C20 brick porch with glazed door facing south. Above, to
north, there are two 2-light horizontal sliding sashes with roof
lights above. Beyond porch to south is the taller bay which has
a central 3-light segment headed horizontal sliding sash with a
similar flat headed sash above. Southern bay has a single
storey lean-to with C20 door to north and 3-light horizontal
sliding sash to south. Interior has a large inglenook fireplace
to one ground floor room and moulded beams. Queen strut roof
trusses with cambered ties and windbraces are visible to first
floor.
