Old Cottage, approx 30 metres
south of Church of St John
the Baptist

Garden fountain, now disused. Early C18. Lead with leaf and foliage ornament.
Hexagonal plan on square stone paved base. Central circular pillar with scrollwork on
base. Water bowl half-way up pillar which is chamfered above bowl with 4 dragons cast
in lead. Above these is a fretted basket. The pillar is surmounted by a ball and rustic
cross. The fountain was brought in from elsewhere in 1904, when the garden was
redesigned by Dunne and Watson.
