Turkey Farmhouse

Farmhouse, now 2 dwellings. Two main builds, C17 and C18 with later addition and
alterations. Timber-framed, clad in painted brick in Flemish bond with later range
timber-framed clad in weatherboarding. Plain tile roofs with pantiles to low addition
to right. Single-storey and attic lobby-entry range with later 2-storey range to
rear forming L-shape. Single-storey and attic range: 3 bays with low later addition
to right. Off-centre plank door. C19 casement to right, two C20 casements to left.
3 gabled dormers with casements. Lower half of stack rendered. Steeply-pitched
roof. To rear exposed ground sill on brick plinth with weatherboarding to right.
2-storey range: brick plinth. Door to rear in angle between two ranges. Casement
windows. External stack to end. Road front: 6-pane sash to ground floor, one small
casement and one 6-pane sash above. Interior, single storey and attic range: stopped
chamfered spine and cross beams with exposed tenoned-in joists to part. Fireplace
in narrow red brick with arched recesses at sides. 1st floor, cambered tie beam and
wall plates, no posts visible. Large stepped stack. 2-storey range: C18 pine corner
cupboard with flanking pilasters and keyed round arch. Upper and lower doors have
raised and fielded panelling and HL hinges. 1st floor, chamfered post and wall plates
visible.
