Farmhouse, dated 1612, recently altered and extended after dereliction,
now house. Coursed sandstone rubble of thin stones, concrete tile roof
with projecting eaves. Now 2 bays (former shippon, etc., to left
demolished and replaced by modern crosswing which is not included in the
item). Two storeys; low chamfered plinth, large quoins, deep moulded
dripcourse carried round 3 sides at 1st floor above which the west gable is
slightly jettied. In front (north side) the only original opening is a
double-chamfered 6-light stone mullion window at 1st floor. Gable and
south walls also have double-chamfered stone mullion windows: at ground
floor both have a 12-light mullion and transom window with king mullion
and at 1st floor both have a long 6-light window, that in the south wall
with king mullion, that in the gable protected by a double-returned
hoodmould on which stands a moulded datestone with an arched panel
lettered in relief "1612"; above this is a 3-light attic window. In the
T
south wall to the right of the 1st floor window is a corbelled garderobe
beneath which at ground level is a low blocked opening. Interior: much
altered (e.g. no chimney stack) but has one ΒΌ-round moulded beam.
