Archway. Dated 1823. By Ignatius Bonomi for London Lead Company. Coursed
squared sandstone with ashlar dressings. Classical style. High arch over
entrance to new development by the company, providing housing for their
most valued workers. Keyed semicircular arch with archivolt resting on
impost blocks. Top cornice; blocking course interrupted by raised tablet
with MASTERMAN PLACE and date in Roman capitals; top band to tablet.
