Terrace of 6 houses. 1763. Render with limestone dressings,
tall brick party wall stacks and hipped pantile roofs.
Double-depth plan. Late Georgian style.
Each of 2 storeys, basement and attic; 2-window range. 3
handed pairs, with moulded parapet coping; right-hand doors
have thin brackets to a canopy, rectangular overlight with 3
pointed lights, and 6-panel doors. 6/6-pane and plate-glass
sashes, single dormer each. Front area steps down to the
basement. Canted bay to the rear.
INTERIOR: No.8, hall divided by a semicircular arch, central
lateral dogleg stair with toadback rail and column balusters;
small room between the stair and the party wall; separate
passage from front basement door to the rear; marble
fireplaces and cast-iron fireplaces; panelled shutters.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: wrought-iron spear-headed front area
railings. An uncommon terrace of C18 artisan houses, with
basement through-passage.
