House. c1860. Brick with limestone dressings, lateral stacks
and a slate roof. Double-depth plan. Gothic Revival style. 2
storeys and attic; 3-window range. A symmetrical front has
quoins and window dressings, and a full-width first-floor
balcony on wooden brackets under the projecting overhanging
eaves. The doorway is flanked by flat panels with Gothic
mouldings and thin stained-glass lights, curving out at the
top to form brackets to the balcony; plate-glass overlight and
a plain plank door with strap hinges. Paired French windows
each side with a stone mullion, similar above, with a tracery
trefoil head and mouchettes to the middle one. The balcony has
a timber Lombard frieze, wooden railings and posts to the
eaves, which have a decorative board pierced by quatrefoils.
Gables have similar barge-boards. The roof runs down in a
catslide to the rear. INTERIOR not inspected, but reported to
have period stairs, doors and fixtures.
