House at end of row. Late C18. Flemish bond brickwork, tile
roof behind rebuilt parapet; return wall to right, rendered;
brick stack.
3 storeys and basement, 1-windowed. Wide tripartite
plate-glass sashes with mullion boxes under brick voussoirs
with central plain key and cornice, to deep stone cills.
Ground floor has blocked former C19 pilaster shop front, with
blank bay left, and 18-pane display window over stall riser
with grille to basement, centre, all to a fascia with moulded
cornice. To the right a C19 glazed door in pilaster doorcase
to open pediment on arched fanlight. Large rebuilt brick stack
to left. The back wall has replacement aluminium sash to
segmental heads, above a good C19 glazed conservatory.
INTERIOR: principal room off the throughway, and staircase off
left. Basement, approached by brick steps with timber nosings,
in 2 parts: the front half, with steps formerly from pavement,
has heavy beamed ceiling, and a series of deep square recesses
in the outer walls. The back half, on a brick floor, has a
wide transverse segmental brick vault.
