Former farmhouse, now house. Early/mid C17, extended into former outbuilding
C20. Coursed rubble limestone with stone slate roofs. Chimneys have square
ashlar shafts with moulded neckings and cornices, the left and rear gable
chimneys with pairs of shafts, the right chimney with single rebuilt shaft.
L-plan. 2 storeys and attic, 2 bays. Hollow-chamfered stone mullion windows,
those to ground floor and rear wing with Tudor hoodmoulds. Left bay has 4-light
windows, and gabled roof dormer with 2-light leaded casement in hollow-chamfered
wooden frame. Right bay has 3-light window to ground floor, and altered upper
storey with one 2-light wooden window and a C20 single light. Wide C19
half-glazed door to centre in C20 porch with lean-to roof of stone slates. Left
gable end of front wing has 2-light wooden stair window with double
ovolo-moulded wooden lintel. Rear wing has 4-light stone mullion windows as on
front, and blocked stair windows in far gable. To right of front wing is former
outbuilding with C20 artificial stone slate roof and 2 bays of C20 wooden
casements. Interior has large fireplace in left bay with axial winder stairs
from first floor to attic. Traces of similar staircase on axis with rear stack.
Wall between front and rear wings retains heavy timber studs at upper storey
level. Heavy chamfered spine beam with one end stopped and bracketed in first
floor room of rear wing.
