GV II
Garden wall, with end piers, central gatepiers, 2 intermediate piers, and pair
of gates. Circa 1740. Wall is of coursed limestone rubble with flat stone
coping, and is c.2 metres high. End and intermediate piers are of dressed stone
with ashlar caps, that at south end rising from the wall. Intermediate piers are
placed opposite corners of house. Central pair of gatepiers are of rusticated
ashlar and have moulded capitals, ball finials, and side pilasters with carved
scroll tops. Contemporary wooden gates are panelled and are ramped down to
centre. Long strap hinges with fleur-de-lys ends.
