Public house, c1800 on earlier core, cement rendered rubble stone
with slate roof, coped gables and end wall stacks. 2 storey, 3-
window range. Three 2-light unmoulded flush mullion windows to
first floor. Ground floor central moulded flush stone doorcase in
C20 gabled porch. Framed 2-panel C18 plank door. To each side 2-
light cyma-moulded recessed mullion window with hoodmould. Similar
south end wall window to ground floor, with hoodmould, and above,
without hoodmould. Rear half-hexagonal slate roofed stair tower
with 12-pane sash. Attached at north end are one-and-a-half storey
extension and 2 storey outbuilding, not of special interest.
Mounting block to right of porch.
Interior: fine C17 moulded Tudor-arched stone fireplace in south-
east angle of ground floor. A turnpike inn at former Gibraltar
turnpike gate, probably raised a storey c1800.
