Nos.46, 48 AND 48A

GV II

Three houses. Mid C19. Flemish-bond brick, stone doorcases and
label moulds to all front windows, continuous slate roof with
brick stacks to gable ends and party wall. Double-depth plans.
2 storeys with basements; No.48A to the left is one-window
range, others are 2-window range. Set well above the road,
there are steps up to the doors. The right-hand range of No.46
to the right is stepped slightly forward with a 6/6-pane sash
window to both floors. A similar window is above a 6-panel
door with overlight and projecting Tuscan porch supported by
paired square columns, with "Monmouth House" painted below the
cornice. Nos 48 & 48A are a symmetrical group, with paired
6-panel doors, overlights and shared cornice flanked by C20
