One of a pair of entrance lodges to Lathom Park, now private
dwelling (in separate ownership), with attached screen wall,
gate pier and gate. Probably late C18 or early C19; altered.
Sandstone ashlar with slate roof, cast-iron gate. Small square
lodge incorporated in straight screen wall with gate pier at
south end. The single-storey lodge, with moulded cornice and
pyramidal roof, has one 9-pane sashed window in the outer
wall; inside the screen wall, a similar window in the opposite
side, a small extension at the rear corner with a doorway, and
a small C20 greenhouse in the angle with the screen wall. The
screen wall terminates at a tall square gate pier with a
moulded cornice, carrying a large ornamental cast-iron gate.
Forms a functional pair with Preston Lodge South (q.v.).
