GV II
Farmhouse, subsequently vicarage, now house. Mid C18; extended
and altered. White-painted scored stucco on sandstone plinth,
with stone slate roof (and slate on the addition). Two storeys
with cellar and attic, 1:2 windows, the main element almost
symmetrical. The ground floor has a doorway offset left of
centre, with a wooden surround and a panelled and glazed door,
a 9-pane sashed window to the left and a large square window
to the right (now a C20 casement with glazing bars); the 1st
floor has 9-pane sashes; and all these windows have moulded
architraves. The addition to the left has one window on each
floor, like those to the right of the doorway. Chimneys at
both original gables and another on the slope in front of that
to the left. Rear mostly covered by C20 additions, but
square-headed stairwindow exposed. INTERIOR: direct entry to
front room; fielded panel doors with H-L hinges; dog-legged
staircase up to attic level, with open string, scrolled
brackets, 2 turned balusters per tread and ramped handrail.
