7/133 Gate piers at entrance to Place
Road

Gate piers of carriageway and flanking pedestrian entrances. C18
and C19. Limestone. Main piers are rusticated with cornice and
ball finials. Side piers have carved lozenge decoration to all
faces, moulded cornice and pulvinated frieze. No gates. Gate
piers originally to now demolished Place House and erected on this
site when Place Road laid out 1864.
