Fire brigade headquarters, now offices, with attached garage to
rear. 1847. Ashlar, Welsh slate roof with coped verges and ashlar
stacks with moulded capping. 2 storeys, 6 windows. Symmetrical
front divided vertically by 4 pilasters, central tall round-arched
opening with 6-panelled beaded door and fanlight, either side are
two tall round-arched openings with imposts and 8-pane sashes;
imposts form string course. First floor has two tall round-arched
sashes to each of three bays. Plain frieze, cornice and blocking
course. To left is wide ashlar round-arch with imposts connecting
to No 31 to Town Hall (q.v.) and forming entry to garage behind,
double doors in semi-elliptical arched opening. To rear is 2-
storey ashlar wing with 16-pane sashes. Group value with Town Hall
