Pair of grave stones. c1714. Red sandstone. Raised rectangular slab with
additional slab at its foot. Fine inscriptions to Sarah, daughter of John
Bower, d 1714 aged 18; also to son Benjamin, d 1718 aged 16 and wife
Elizabeth, d 1718 aged 60; the inscriptions are set beneath a rope-moulded
arch with florets and scale ornament in the spandrels, side panels of
stylised sinuous foliage. At the foot is a plain slab to John Bower himself
who died in 1737 aged 65. Good example of its kind.
