7/69 The Magdalen Hotel, No 20

Public house. Late C18 with later alterations. Painted brick with stuccoed ground
floor and painted stone dressings, slate roof. Three storeys and 5 bays. Ground
floor has central C20 pilastered doorcase with recessed C20 door. To either side
there are large early C20 3-light windows with leaded top lights, etched glass and
projecting sills. Timber cornice across full width, with wide ashlar first floor
band over. 5 first and second floor 12-pane sashes below flat brick arches, those
to first floor with sill band and those above with projecting sills. Moulded eaves
cornice and brick end stacks half way down the front pitch of the roof.
