II
Deer paddock. Before 1746 (Provisional list 1970). Gritstone rubble wall.
Approximately 2 metres high with rubble-on-edge coping, enclosing a roughly
elliptical-shaped paddock approximately 80 metres by 60 metres. The wall abuts
ruinous buildings to the south-west and runs out to the south-east, though a gate
post survives alongside to the south. There is a small opening in the east wall.
Deer were penned here in preparation for a stag hunt. An unusual feature.
