Terraces with retaining walls, steps and urns. c1845 by George Martin for
Lord Stourton. Gritstone and ashlar. Main terrace on north and west side
of the house, with a second, lower, terrace in the north. Main terrace has
retaining wall of random rubble with closely-spaced buttresses. A
substantial north-west corner 'tower' with conical-capped turrets and
battlemented wall. Flight of steps with turrets and side walls at east end
of north terrace. The lower lawn has 3 pairs of large segmental stone urns
on square bases flanking short flights of steps leading to the lowest north
lawn.
