Bridge over Baysdale Beck and attached piers. Medieval bridge;
piers and parapet probably C17 in origin; later alterations.
Finely-coursed dressed stone; parapet coarser with herringbone
tooling, above roll-moulded band. Single wide 2-centred arch with
recessed later strengthening arch beneath; internal plinth; and 4
ribs to soffit. Parapet coping of large blocks. Bridge is roughly
serpentine in plan, splaying out at the west end and narrowing at
east end to 2 taller square piers supporting square domed caps on
swept bases, the northern one looking older.
Partly in the parish of Westerdale, Scarborough District.
