Farmhouse and 4 cottages. 1874 by Philip Webb for Sir I Lowthian Bell. Red
brick in English garden wall bond; pantiled roofs, brick stacks. Vernacular
revival style. Two storeys and attics, 6 bays, slightly irregular. Diagonal
corner buttresses below a stepped and cogged first floor band. Ground floor
openings under segmental double-header relieving arches with basket-laid bricks
in Tympana. 2 late C20 and 2 boarded doors to cottages. Pent porch on right to
farmhouse. All window sashes with glazing bars, paired on first floor. Half-
hipped roof with 6 flat-headed dormers; 5 cornice-banded transverse stacks.
Irregular 3-bay right return to farmhouse.
