Hall and cottages. 1906 dated on polychrome ceramic plaque with escutchion and
initials H & F B, by George Jack for Sir Hugh Bell. Brick, partly pebble-
dashed. Pantiled roof and copper dome. U-shaped plan with hall in centre and
ranges of cottages forming wings. Two storeys. Hall: 7 bays, the outer ones
with segmental-arched double doors under pent tiled hoods. Bays divided by
buttresses with shaped heads running through a dentilled brick string to the
pebble-dashed first floor. Projecting central bay with first-floor wood oriel
on iron brackets, clock in brick-dentilled open quasi-pediment above. Hipped
roofs to all 3 ranges have swept eaves and exposed rafter ends; tall brick
chimneys, some with rebated angles. Cottage ranges of 3 bays, irregular, with
doors and ground-floor canted bays under long, bracketed tiled hoods. All
window sashes with glazing bars except for first-floor casements in hall.
Bell-cupola, with square dome and vane, at centre of roof ridge.
