1) One of the Belvoir Angels headstones. Swithland slate. Richard Bird d.May 30th 1726 aet 47. Verse –A loving husband and a father dear/ He was the same that lies interred hear/ A dear and tender wife, 2 children kind/ Upon this earthly world I have left behind-. Text –I am in a strait betwixt two having a desire to depart and to be with Christ which is fare better (Philip 1.23)-. (Photo Jan 2013).
