Headstones. Late C17 - early C18. Swithland slate. Headstones line right
(east) side of path leading to porch. Those nearest porch commemorate 2
members of the Bird family that to right Richard Bird d.1726, that to left
his wife Ann d.1731 both aged 47, the former with winged angel's head above
inscription and both with lines of verse. Then a group of four to numbers
of Simpson family earliest to Elizabeth, daughter of Jasper and Alice
Simpson, d.1696 with winged angel's head above inscription. To right their
son, Jasper, d.1705 to left Jasper Simpson d.1732, with winged angel's head
above inscription in relief, and Alice d.1740. That further from porch
commemorates Tom, son of Charles and Elizabeth Stringer d.1717 with verse
and angel's head below inscription.
