Pair of statues on North Terrace at
Belton House

Pair of statues. Early C18. Marble. Life size figures on
moulded square bases. Female figure to west, with a posy, male
figure to right with a spade.
Pevsner tentatively attributes these figures to C G Cibber,
who carved a nearby sundial (qv) for Sir John Brownlow in the
late C17. Marsden & Barber describe them as Italian, C18.
This building appears within Belton Park which is on the
Gardens Register at grade I.
