Village house, later 2 houses. C16 with later alterations.
No.7 (left) rendered on rubble, otherwise painted rubble; rag
slate roof, steeper to No.9; rubble stacks; central axial
stack rendered and heightened with brick shaft and 2 rendered
rubble rear stacks. 3-room and through-passage plan with hall
stack backing onto passage and evidence of original stair rear
of stack. 2 storeys; irregular 4-window range. C17
two-centred-arched chamfered dressed stone doorway left of
centre with moulded planked and studded door; later doorway on
its left with 4-panel door; early C19 24-pane 3-light window
on left, otherwise later casements with horizontal glazing
bars: single light on left; 3-light over doorways and wide
pair of 4-lights over shallow slate-roofed outshut with pair
of 3-light casements on the right. INTERIOR: probably 7 roof
bays (boxed-in truss visible to right-hand chamber); wide
slate-flagged passage with slate screen on left; C18 two-panel
door into hall; large hall fireplace partly blocked; mid/late
C19 wooden surround and later inner surround; mid C19 straight
flight staircase with stick balusters; pantry rear of hall and
back kitchen behind No.7. Old floor structure hidden and
original roof structure not inspected.
